West wins NBA All-Star Game, Melo struggles, Westbrook MVP – New York Daily News
Carmelo Anthony at least came through on his promise as New York’s self-proclaimed host and ambassador this weekend by waving to the home crowd and acknowledging the fans that voted him into the Eastern Conference starting lineup for Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game. Anthony typically received the loudest pregame ovation from the Garden fans, but he couldn’t reward that hometown support. He had a rough shooting night that did little to dispel the notion that the hobbled Knicks star may end his season to have surgery on his bothersome left knee. The $ 124 million forward started and logged 30 minutes over four half-speed stints in the East’s 163-158 loss to the Western Conference.
