Verizon, T-Mobile Come Out Tops on RootMetrics Report – Highlight Press

There was really no surprise on the latest RootMetrics mobile network report, as the tester revealed last week that Verizon Wireless was again the best overall performer among America’s carriers.  However, T-Mobile also made a good impression, joining Verizon as two carriers with impressive showings in the 4G LTE category. RootMetrics’ latest data did not include average speed to gauge a carrier’s complete coverage footprint, and it may be just as well – there are better ways to determine how well a carrier’s network does.  What the Seattle-based company did now was to report the number of metropolitan areas where a carrier’s average download speed reaches a certain threshold.  With that said, there were 122 metros where Verizon’s average download speed was 10 Mbps or better, followed by 96 metros for T-Mobile.  AT&T came in at third with a total of 93 cities.
