At least one ‘Fifty Shades’ sex scene didn’t make it into the movie – USA TODAY

(Universal/Focus Features) When you’re adapting a book like Fifty Shades of Grey into a movie, there are bound to be issues when it comes to deciding how much of the stuff the book told you’re actually going to show. And while there are many, many sex scenes in the Fifty Shades book, one in particular that will definitely not be in the movie, and it’s probably a good thing. Without getting into too many details, book fans will know it as the one that involves Christian, Ana and a tampon. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson told Variety: “It didn’t make it into the movie. It was never even discussed.” Well there you have it. One of the movie’s producers, Michael De Luca, elaborated a little on why that particular scene didn’t make the cut: “The book needed to put you in Ana’s shoes to be a successful experience. A lot of it was very literal.
